The University of South Florida Ice Bulls traveled down South this weekend to take on the FAU Owls for two games.
The first night, the Bulls posted a 4-3 victory in a very battling game. FAU led the game 1-0, then USF took the lead 2-1. The Owls tied the game 2-2 just prior to the first intermission. They took back the lead 40 seconds into the second. USF continued to create opportunities and tied the game once again one minute later. The Bulls took the lead in the second and held on to win the game.
On Saturday night, it seemed like FAU was going to run away with the game. The Bulls were down 2-0 after the first period. The Owls extended their lead in the second period 4-0 with two power play goals. USF did not let their momentum drop just yet. With two minutes left in the period, the Bulls finally see a spark and get on the board. They used the momentum they created at the end of the second to score five unanswered goals (including an empty netter) to win the game 6-4.
The momentum created during these games is sure to carry on for the Bulls through the Thanksgiving holiday into their next game against top ranked Florida Gulf Coast University on Dec. 3.
