<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">A hard fought battle all game ended in a stalemate. &nbsp;USF Forward #9 Ben Leonard had two goals and USF Goalie #31 Alex Miller made some great saves to keep the Ice Bulls in the game. &nbsp;The USF Defense made some key penalty kills to force this game to Overtime then to the Shootout. &nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The Florida Golf Coast University Eagles got on the score board first with a Power Play goal, but Ice Bulls Forward #9 Ben Leonard answered with a goal less than two minutes later. At the end of the First Period the game was tied 1-1.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The Ice Bulls started the Second Period by getting a penalty which lead to a PP goal for FGCU, giving the Eagles a one goal lead. &nbsp;The Ice Bulls answered with a goal by #10 Luke Goyette. &nbsp;FGCU then took two penalties to give USF a minute long 5-on-3 PP. &nbsp;#9 Ben Leonard got his second goal of the game on the 5-on-3 PP. &nbsp;This gave the Ice Bulls a 3-2 lead with 12 minutes left in the Second Period. &nbsp;USF took two penalties to give the Eagles a long 5-on-3 PP, which the Eagles scored on to tie the game, 3-3. &nbsp;Another two USF penalties gave the Eagles another 5-on-3 PP but the USF defense and goalie killed it off. &nbsp;At the end of the Second Period, we were tied 3-3.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The intensity carried over from the Second Period to the Third Period. &nbsp;FGCU took the lead seven minutes into the Third Period from a lucky shot that ended up in the back of the net. &nbsp;USF Forward, #11 DJ Guggi answered with a PP goal, to tie the game 4-4 with 10 minutes left. &nbsp;After a few key penalty kills by USF the Third Period ended 4-4, we were heading to Overtime.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The five minute Overtime started with USF on a 4-on-3 PK, after killing the penalty, it was 4-on-4 hockey. &nbsp;The rest of the period resulted in a few chances for each team but no goals or penalties. &nbsp;Overtime ended 4-4, which means we were heading to the Shootout, USF would go first followed by FGCU.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">During the Shootout, #3 Brian Schulker went first for USF but was denied by the post, after sniping five hole. &nbsp;FGCU scored, next up for USF was #16 Andrew Silvers, the FGCU goalie made the save. &nbsp;Miller shut the door and made a great stick save on the FGCU skater. &nbsp;It was up to #9 Ben Leonard to tie up the shootout, the FGCU goalie came up with the save. &nbsp;The shootout ended 0-1 FGCU, which gave the Eagles the 4-5 win.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;"><span style="font-size: 9pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The Ice Bulls next game is on Friday at the University of Florida Gators at 10:15pm, the game will be played in Orlando, at the RDV Sportsplex. &nbsp;Then the Gators will travel here to Tampa to play the Ice Bulls at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Sunday at 1:00pm. &nbsp;Then on Monday, Nov. 12th the Ice Bulls will be hosting the University of Tampa Spartans at 7:30pm at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.</span></p>

Davenport University, who finished as the Runner-up in last years 2012 ACHA D3 National Championship Game seems to be once again, a force to be reckoned with. Davenport, has returned a good portion of their team to action for the 2012-2013 season, as well as a few ACHA All-Star selections from last year. Along side the Alabama Frozen Tide and the Ole Miss Rebels, the Bulls will compete against the North Division in the weekend's showcase fittingly named "The Civil War". The Bulls, currently on a 3-game skid, dropping two games to in-state rival UCF and one to Blue Ridge Hockey Conference foe, Loyola-Maryland. When the Bulls arrive in East Lansing Thursday night, they will be focused on the upcoming 3 game weekend and look to end the current losing streak. The last meeting between the Bulls  and Eagles was back in November of last year and the result was heavily  in the Bulls favor. Skating away with a 5-3 victory in game 1 on Friday  night, the Bulls carried the momentum into Saturday nights contest,  completing the weekend sweep with a 6-1 decision. The Bulls will look to  continue their success against the Eagles and start the season off on  the winning track. Stayed tuned to Twitter and Facebook for updates on  this weekends games. The  Bulls will battle In-state rivals The University of Central Florida  (#2), Florida Gulf Coast University (#1), Florida Atlantic University  and The University of Florida as well as out-of-state rivals, Alabama  (#3), Loyola (#5) and Georgia Tech. In late October, the Bulls will  travel north alongside of Ole Miss and Alabama to participate in the  Civil War Showcase in East Lansing, Michigan. There, the Bulls will face  North Division opponents Grand Valley State University (#13), Michigan  State University (#6) and the ACHA DIII National Championship Runner-Up,  Davenport University (#4). The 2012-2013 USF Ice Bulls will be led by  their Captain and ACHA DIII Allstar Selection, Matt Meyer, along with all  but 2 returning players. Forwards Justin Quillen, Ben Leonard and Ryan  Nelson, Goaltender Koby Pumphrey, and Defensemen Joseph Heckes, and  Frenchman, Vincent Courant are just a few of the names that are going to  be returning to the USF lineup for 2012-2013. With an extremely  experienced roster, the Bulls will look to better their 2011-2012  campaign, with a birth in the 2013 ACHA DIII National Championship  Tournament in Springfield, Missouri.
